Provide actionable advice to business and technology clients on options to prepare business cases and evaluate warehouse and fulfillment systems
Research and write about changing vendor marketplace for warehouse systems and automation
Develop visual aids and convert written content to presentations
Advise on selection of specialty consultants and systems integrators
Contribute to Gartner-wide research on logistics systems and related technologies
Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences and client briefings
Conduct on-site or virtual advisory sessions with clients
Provide high quality and timely review of peer’s research and support team members
Lead or participate in community meetings
Requirements
Located in North America (Eastern or Central Time zones preferred)
Minimum of 7 or more years of experience in systems and solutions required to automate and optimize warehousing and distribution operations
Familiarity with WMS systems and their implementation
Experience with warehouse automation, WCS/WES, and warehouse robotics
Knowledge of variations of artificial intelligence within warehouse applications (Agentic AI, Embedded AI, or Gen AI)
Experience with other warehousing systems such as workforce management, ecommerce fulfillment, distributed order management, yard management, dock door scheduling, supply chain visibility, and systems integration
Strong writing and presentation skills
Effective interaction at all levels of an organization on logistics technology, supply chain and business issues
Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a geographically diverse team environment
Strong project planning and management skills
Domestic and international travel may be required – approximately 10-20%
