About this role
Role Overview
Provide legal advice and transactional support within the Global Operations & Supply Chain Legal Organization, primarily supporting Indirect and Direct Procurement and IT functions.
Partner with a broad range of Medtronic business clients to support the acquisition of goods, technology solutions, and services.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver practical, solutions-oriented advice while continuing to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
Analyze, draft, and negotiate supplier contracts across various categories, such as professional and corporate services, including marketing, HR, and R&D; transportation, logistics, warehousing; technology agreements (software licensing and SaaS, telecommunications); and direct materials.
Partner with subject matter experts across a global matrixed organization, including coordination with Global Operations and Supply Chain, Security, Privacy, Compliance, Regulatory, Quality, and Trade Compliance.
Support contract interpretation matters and help resolve supplier disputes in partnership with business stakeholders and other internal teams.
Identify opportunities to improve contracting processes and drive efficiencies, including updating templates and playbooks, partnering with stakeholders on intake and workflow improvements, and delivering practical contracting trainings to business teams.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives and other projects, bringing strong issue-spotting skills, sound judgment, and a practical, creative approach to problem solving—including when matters are novel or outside prior experience.

Requirements
JD from a nationally recognized law school
Licensed to practice in at least one US state or the District of Columbia
5+ years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts as a practicing attorney to include experience with complex commercial transactions
Strong academic performance and credentials
Law firm and/or in-house experience supporting commercial transactions
Flexibility, adaptability, responsiveness, and collegiality
Ability to perform in fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Sound judgment and clear, concise oral and written communication
Strong analytical skills, including ability to identify issues, assess risk, and propose practical mitigations
Comfort operating in ambiguity and adapting quickly as priorities evolve
Strong organizational skills—able to juggle multiple matters, prioritize effectively, and follow through
Demonstrated integrity and a strong ethical foundation
Persuasive, collaborative negotiation style with strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
Ability to build credibility quickly and influence stakeholders at various levels, including senior leaders
Business acumen—understands business objectives and tailors legal advice to support strategy and execution
