Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with Japanese accounting standards and internal policies.
Regularly reconcile exchange accounts, bank accounts, crypto wallets, and general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Manage the accounting and reporting of cryptocurrency transactions, including purchases, sales, trades, and wallets, ensuring proper treatment of crypto assets in line with regulatory guidelines.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Assist with internal and external audits.
Provide analysis on financial performance and provide insights into cost-saving opportunities and revenue optimization for the exchange operations.
Stay up-to-date with local and global regulatory requirements for cryptocurrencies and ensure the exchange’s compliance with Japanese financial regulations, such as those set by the Financial Services Agency (FSA).
Handle all tax-related matters including preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate tax, consumption tax, and other relevant taxes) according to Japanese tax laws.
Work closely with the global finance team and other departments (legal, operations, compliance) to ensure smooth operations and reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
4–6 years of relevant experience in Finance&Accounting.
Strong communication skills in English and Japanese verbally and in writing
Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
