Role Overview
- Develop and conceptualize plans, details, and drawing sections
- Review scope documents, P&IDs, and supporting technical documentation
- Prepare and develop piping layouts and design deliverables
- Collaborate with drafters/designers for 2D drawings and 3D models
- Provide design inputs to the piping stress team
- Plan, assign, and manage distribution of drafting tasks
- Identify cost-effective solutions to design challenges
- Perform checking and back-checking of 3D models and piping drawings
- Support preparation of TSSA registration packages
- Interface with customer engineering representatives and project stakeholders
- Provide management with updates on schedule and technical progress
- Provide timely engineering responses and technical resolutions
- Attend site visits, walkdowns, and project meetings
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience (5-8 years in nuclear industry as Piping Engineer)
- Experience in working on EPC and/or EPCM projects
- Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
- Strong knowledge of CSA N285, ASME B31.1, ASME B16.5, ASTM materials
- Strong working knowledge of piping specifications, P&IDs
- Experience in generation of Site / Plot Plans, Piping General Arrangement Drawings, etc.
- Ability to conceptualize design details independently
- Experience in pressure boundary systems and TSSA registration is an asset
- Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
