Role Overview
increase stakeholder understanding of the university's positions and aspirations
design communication plans to communicate university messaging around strategic initiatives
coordinate with university leadership for accurate communication
draft communications in the voice of university leaders to internal and external audiences
support nearly 200 events + communications professionals across the University
contribute to the university’s communications strategies by generating increased visibility and awareness of the university's objectives, goals and positions
key role in internal communications for senior leaders of the university and departments
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in communications or related field of study
at least three to four years of experience in public relations, journalism, broadcasting, higher education, non-profit institution or related area
excellent written and oral communications skills
good judgment
ability to work on deadline
demonstrated interpersonal skills
flexibility
willingness to work evenings and weekends
ability to exercise diplomacy and manage a high-volume of communication initiative at the same time
meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure
eye for detail
