Role Overview
Serve as a strategic thought leader for payer innovation, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen value communication, unlock barriers to access, and support alignment with evolving oncology reimbursement models
Co-develop payer-specific dashboards, insights reports, and predictive models that visualize disease burden, treatment patterns, disparities, and quality performance in support of scientific exchange and medical outcomes discussions
Drive strong collaboration with U.S. Field Medical and Medical Outcomes teams to enable effective deployment of payer tools and ensure feedback loops that inform continuous improvement
Identify and quantify opportunities for oncology care improvement—such as reducing unwarranted variation, improving guideline-concordant care, optimizing sequencing, and enhancing health equity—using advanced analytics and payer-validated quality frameworks
Lead pull-through of innovative payer-focused solutions by translating scientific, clinical, and real-world data and insights into actionable tools that enhance payer engagement and decision-making in oncology
Streamline external scientific resources (e.g., value dossiers, economic models, digital platforms) to create a cohesive and simplified toolkit for payer-focused team, improving speed, consistency, and clarity of communication
Design, operationalize, and scale oncology quality-care improvement tools that leverage internal and external datasets (claims, EHR, etc.) to identify actionable gaps in care to support payers in improving outcomes for their members with cancer
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a health science required
PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree preferred
Relevant experience required: 10+ years with bachelor’s degree; 8+ years with master’s degree; 7+ years with terminal degree
Experience should be in any of the following: Clinical, formulary, and/or other management experience
Managed Care, pharmaceutical industry, and/or Quality Improvement
Data Analytics and/or HEOR activities, with demonstrated strong methodological skills (study design, data analysis, and interpretation) in health services research
Significant experience in interacting with payers and other organized customers required
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal skills: ability to understand and respond to multiple external and internal customers’ demands, manage and handle conflict constructively required
Strong analytic skills including creativity and effectiveness in proactively identifying and addressing challenges
Ability to travel, including overnight travel for internal and external meetings (customer, industry, and professional society meetings)
