Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for international entities for Australia, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Lead year-end reporting, external audits, and internal controls (SOX compliance where applicable).
Manage and evaluate workflows using ADP-Celergo, ActivPayroll, and Workday to ensure high service levels.
Identify bottlenecks in the current workflow and implement automated solutions to improve scalability.
Communicate to ensure all payroll accounts are funded accurately across various currencies.
Act as the final escalation point for complex payroll inquiries, resolving issues with empathy and speed.
Partner closely with HR and Benefits on benefits administration, LOA’s, changes, new hires, leavers.
Lead the preparation and review of complex payroll journal entries, including gross-to-net calculations and employer tax distributions.
Manage the payroll accrual process (e.g., bonus accruals, PTO liabilities, and commissions) to ensure a "no-surprises" month-end close.
Analyze and explain fluctuations in labor costs compared to budget and previous periods.
Requirements
5+ years of payroll experience
3+ years of international payroll processing experience
BS / BA college degree or relevant experience
Are experienced in Accounting and reconciliations.
Are an expert in Workday, NetSuite, ADP, ADP-Celergo and ActivPayroll.
Treat Excel like a second language (VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables are your minimum standard)
Certifications like CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or equivalent are a major plus.
Can explain a complex tax "withholding" issue to a software engineer in a way that makes sense.
Possess a "detective’s eye" for detail.
Are organized enough to handle multiple deadlines without breaking a sweat.
