About this role
Role Overview
Perform follow-up on insurance billing and collection activities
Verify the accuracy and completeness of insurance records and claims
Contact insurance companies to expedite payments for physician services
Research and resolve patient registration and coverage charge review edits
Review patient accounts to verify the accuracy of information
Utilize Epic, system tools, and payer websites for claim submission and status
Meet Quality Assurance (QA) and efficiency standards daily
Support and act as a resource to others regarding patient registration and coverages
Correct registration and coverage information as necessary
Interact with management and staff to discuss issues
Act as back-up support for the billing team and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
2 years of experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting and/or Medical Collection Setting
Skills in Claims Resolution, Collections Strategies, Confidential Data Handling, Epic EHR, Health Insurance Billing, ICD-10 Procedure Coding System, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Terminology, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Office Equipment, Telephone Communications
