Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer.
A master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.
Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
Electrical Engineering degree preferred
the concepts of protection schemes require an understanding of symmetrical components.
Experience with power system modeling and relay coordination studies using Aspen One-Liner or CAPE software.
Analysis and reporting of fault analysis and relay actions.
Familiarity with protection system components, such as relays, carrier sets, RTU, instrument transformers, and DC systems.
Experience with relay settings calculations for protective relays from Protection & Control designs specifically settings for line, autobank transformers, transformers, bus, capacitor bank for both transmission & distribution class equipment.
Interpretation of relay documents and Protection & Control design drawings.
Interpretation and compliance with all applicable NERC (PRC-006, PRC-012, PRC-023, PRC-025, PRC-027, CIP-002, and CIP-10) and FERC regulations.
Familiarity with Aspen Relay Database, SEL-5010, SEL-5030 AcSELerator software.
Adhere to internal and industry compliance and regulations.
