Focus on detailed technical drawings, FF&E schedules, coordination with contractors.
Ensure designs are compliant with UK standards and fire and accessibility regulations.
Develop interior design concepts and progress them through to detailed design stages.
Produce high-quality, production-ready technical drawing packages including plans, elevations, joinery details, and specifications.
Prepare and manage full FF&E schedules, specifications, and sourcing documentation.
Create 3D models and visualisations to clearly communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders.
Ensure all designs are practical, compliant, and aligned with project budgets and timelines.
Lead and attend client meetings, presenting design concepts and technical solutions.
Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity throughout delivery.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
Provide clear communication and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity.
Attend site visits to review progress and ensure alignment with design and technical documentation.
Review installations and resolve on-site technical or design issues.
Work closely with contractors to ensure accurate execution of drawings and specifications.
Support projects through to completion, snagging, and final handover.
Ensure designs comply with relevant UK regulations, standards, and best practices.
Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years experience as an Interior-focused Technical Designer.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a Technical Interior Designer delivering real-world projects from concept through to completion, with a strong focus on technical execution.
Strong interior design portfolio demonstrating technical detailing and buildable, production-ready work (critical requirement).
Demonstrated ability to produce detailed technical drawings and documentation for construction.
Strong background in workplace / commercial office design environments.
Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
Experience working on UK-based projects and familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards is preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential), SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop).
Ability to produce coordinated drawing sets, specifications, schedules, and technical outputs efficiently.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing.
Demonstrated high productivity and ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment with minimal supervision.
Confident client-facing communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead meetings and manage stakeholder expectations.
Strong project coordination, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Collaborative and team-oriented, while also capable of working autonomously.
Commercial awareness with the ability to balance design intent and buildability.
Comfortable working with overseas clients; UK experience preferred but not essential.
Exposure to AI concepts in design is a plus but not essential.
