As the technical/business lead for the Content, Social & Live Streaming platform, own end-to-end delivery of core business functions: social content (posting/reposting/comments and distribution pipelines), video live streaming, audio voice rooms, and interactive commerce mechanics (gifts/tasks/red packets, etc.), covering overall engineering execution and continuous evolution.
Own the overall technical architecture and engineering foundation: mobile & web clients, server-side & admin back-end, live streaming ingest/playback integration and governance; drive platform-oriented development that is "scalable, evolvable, and operable."
Establish consistent cross-platform UX and interaction standards; collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Operations to own key experience metrics (A/V sync quality, stream start success rate, first-frame latency, interaction delivery rate, payment conversion, etc.) and drive iteration through data and experimentation.
Define the integration strategy and vendor collaboration model for third-party audio/video capabilities: establish clear capability boundaries, integration specs, and versioning/change management processes to ensure business continuity and control when evaluating or switching between solutions.
Build end-to-end reliability and observability systems: define SLI/SLO/SLA, monitoring & alerting, capacity planning, and chaos/fault drills centered on user journeys; lead on-call, incident response, postmortems, and continuous improvement to materially reduce the impact of streaming and interaction failures on user experience.
Recruit and manage the engineering team (client/front-end/back-end/QA/ops, etc.); establish R&D processes and quality gates (release, canary, rollback, code review, automated testing) to improve delivery efficiency and engineering quality.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in internet/content/social/live streaming product development; 3+ years of technical team management experience; proven track record of driving core business from 0→1 or 1→N.
Deep familiarity with the key technical challenges of live/real-time interactive systems: low-latency pipelines, network jitter and poor connectivity, concurrency and traffic spikes, room state consistency, interactive messaging, and gift billing.
Cross-platform and full-stack perspective: system design and performance optimization across mobile (iOS/Android) and web, server-side and distributed systems, messaging and caching, content recommendation/Feed (or equivalent) mechanisms.
"Product-minded engineering" capability: able to translate business goals into executable technical plans and milestones; attentive to user experience and interaction details; able to collaborate with Product and Design using a shared metrics language.
Reliability engineering methodology: able to implement SLI/SLO, monitoring & alerting, capacity planning, incident response, and postmortem feedback loops, with data to demonstrate reliability improvements.
Strong communication and execution skills: able to drive decisions and delivery across multiple teams, roles, and competing priorities; capable of managing external partners and aligning internal teams on technical direction and execution standards.
