Application Engineer, Log Management

Role Overview

• Your primary responsibility is configuring and operating our log management systems in hybrid deployment scenarios (on-premises, cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud) and automating internal processes (e.g., deployments).
• Your tasks include integrating and continuously optimizing the log data processing pipeline for hybrid operating environments.
• You apply AI-supported approaches to simplify administrative tasks and optimize processes.
• You are responsible for processing, provisioning and analyzing technical and business-related structured and unstructured log data and visualizing it in interactive dashboards.
• You are part of our central log management team and act as a cross-functional interface with other teams, aligning log-management requirements from software development, platform operations and our customer environments.

Requirements

• You have a degree in Business Informatics (specializing in Software Engineering or System Integration) with several years of relevant professional experience, or you have vocational training in IT (e.g., IT specialist or IT systems management clerk) combined with many years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent qualification.
• You possess (detailed) DevOps skills to operate and further develop services in hyperscaler environments and have experience with common Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• In addition, you have experience with Linux and Windows server operating systems and basic knowledge of a scripting language such as Python or Perl.
• You have knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), in particular applying AI methods to optimize IT processes, such as machine learning, data analysis or automation.
• You have strong analytical thinking, a self-reliant and structured working style, teamwork skills and strong communication abilities.
• Reliability, openness to new approaches, commitment and a collaborative mindset complete your profile.
