Lead and provide guidance to technicians on day-to-day operations of Industrial steam, Clean steam, water purification, Compressed air, chilled water, refrigeration, water for injection, Alcohol distillation and wastewater systems
Monitor and train technicians on equipment operation such as boilers, cooling towers, air compressors/ dryers, Reverse osmosis systems, WFI distillation units, pumps, valves and related systems such as water pre-treatment, pure water, water for injection loops, wastewater, plant vacuum, and all distribution sub-systems
Manage inventory and place purchase order with outside vendors for chemical substances as well as parts for manufacturing usage
Ensure detailed documentation of all calibration, troubleshooting, and repair activities from Technicians
Ensure technicians are up to date with their training curriculum
Coordinate with manufacturing departments to complete work order in a timely manner
Assist management in coordinating and scheduling the department's day to day operations as well as monitoring Technicians' work/ meal break schedule to ensure compliance
Performs more complex and advanced job tasks
Provide on-the-job training to entry level Technicians
Strict adherence to procedures, practices, and documentation according to FDA regulations
Strict adherence to cGMP, Safety and Environmental requirements
Support and Comply to the ISO14001 Environmental Management System
Requirements
Associates degree in a relevant technical field required
Los Angeles City Steam Engineer License 500hp minimum required; Unlimited License preferred
8 years relevant experience
Ability to verify system settings
Skilled in trouble shooting abilities to identify and resolve equipment problems
Skilled in identifying, repairing, diagnosing various system equipment
Skilled in using diagnostic test equipment and precision measuring devices
Basic computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of personnel in a professional manner
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle an ever changing, fast paced critical work environment
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze details and perform structured decision-making on a daily basis
Self-starter with good work ethic and ability to work independently with minimum supervision and use good judgment, or as a contributing member of a team
Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail
