Engineering Technician – MCU, UFS

Role Overview

• Support customers and field technicians with power generation systems
• Execute contractual obligations per customer requirements including repairs to electrical and mechanical equipment in wind turbine generators
• Help in job preparation
• Assist in the creation of work instructions and standard work packages
• Coordinate with Resource Managers on labor, tooling, and materials
• Participate in pre-job meetings to discuss execution of work instructions, schedule, LOTO, hazard mitigation, and jobsite/customer requirements
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems
• Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct wind turbine malfunctions
• Mentor, teach, and provide OJT to junior wind technicians
• Document all work performed using company provided technology

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Senior Wind Technician
• Ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the wind site
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel and travel as required 100% of time
• Handle repetitive weight
• 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet daily
• Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required climbing gear
• Ability and willingness to work in range of outdoor environments and customer facilities to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
• Flexibility to work weekends, travel to a job on short notice, rotating shift schedules as needed to complete wind turbine repairs.
