Develop and implement business strategies that will lead to the profitable growth of an assigned group of high-opportunity agencies.
Regular interaction with executive leadership of large national and regional brokers, agency groups, and independent agencies.
Facilitate sales growth through training, analytics, and presentation of data on a regular basis.
Presents data, makes proposals, and recommends business solutions to executive leadership of internal and external customers.
Collaborates with multiple internal departments to facilitate growth of assigned territory and promote overall corporate betterment.
Builds a strong network of influence across assigned territory and in the larger assigned channel.
Provides feedback and recommendations to management concerning market conditions, service levels and effectiveness of Company programs.
Consistently assists management with special assignments outside of established responsibilities.
Participates in advanced studies through seminars/courses to contribute and apply expanded knowledge.
Assist with interviews and/or train newly hired employees as needed.
Establishes path to achieve semi-annual/annual production goals while managing profitability.
Reviews and monitors agent production reports, loss ratios, and holds performance discussions to improve and drive new business growth.
Professionally represents Mercury at tradeshows, conventions, and other events.
Interview and recruit agents for agency appointments.
Analyzes and considers current business operations in order to develop a recommendation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required, Completion of CPCU, CIC, or advanced degree preferred
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (as determined by Company policy) required, along with ability to travel within assigned territory
At least 5-8 years of experience with outside sales and marketing in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry
Experience with managing or interacting with high premium volume agencies preferred
Experience with managing or interacting with high premium volume agencies, National and regional brokers, or alternative distribution preferred
Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Skilled at analytical thinking and utilizing data to drive sales strategy
Highly efficient and organized.
Must be able to interact professionally with executive leadership of large agencies and other team members
Must be able to communicate effectively to support Company policies on complex issues
Must be able to work independently under minimal supervision to train agencies
Must be able to travel by airline up to 20% of the time for company meetings or events
Must be able to travel by automobile (when needed) for on-site visits to agencies
Strong organization and time management skills
Negotiating and mediating skills to achieve resolutions and explain Company policies
Ability to analyze complex reports and multi-task assigned projects
Exhibits leadership skills that are easily recognized by management and peers
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
