Act as the dedicated estimation and proposal resource for an assigned SDP, supporting preferred partners and designated accounts.
Lead, manage, and assume accountability for the design and estimation of assigned sales projects, including budgeting, detailed estimating, and value engineering support.
Prepare proposals and estimates with detailed scopes of work, clarifications, inclusions/exclusions, assumptions, and commercial terms as directed.
Develop and maintain a working understanding of the customer’s existing environment and project conditions to support accurate pricing and reduced risk.
Produce complex, enlarged estimates, which may include multi-system scopes (Divisions 27/28 and related low-voltage technologies), multiple buildings, phasing, and non-standard job conditions.
Estimating support for change orders on ongoing projects, including: Reviewing existing project scope, drawings, submittals, and prior change documentation Identifying scope deltas, coordination requirements, and schedule impacts (as applicable) Building clear, defensible pricing and documentation suitable for customer review.
Coordinate with Design Estimation, Operations, and Project Management to validate scope, labor approach, materials, constraints, and execution risks.
Attend site walks, pre-bids, and customer meetings with or in support of the assigned SDP as needed.
Facilitate bidding and quote activity using MS Outlook and Pref-Tech systems; ensure timely follow-up, bid submissions, and required documentation.
Manage leads, deals, and contacts in Pref-Tech’s CRM as assigned; maintain organized opportunity notes, tasks, and next steps.
Support the assigned SDP with account responsiveness—helping ensure customers and preferred partners experience a smooth, professional sales process.
Maintain and continue to develop sales, design, and estimation skills and certifications relevant to the position.
Demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism in all communication (verbal, written, and presentation).
Adhere to all HR and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience in creating estimates, proposals, and designs; security industry experience preferred.
Ability to review and interpret drawings/prints and translate them into clear scope and pricing.
Strong client-facing experience with a consultative, service-oriented mindset.
Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools.
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills; capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
Comfort with complex scopes, ambiguity, and change-order nuance; able to build clear documentation for “scope delta” work.
