Together with your team design innovative approaches for grid operation and deliver them as robust software modules
Translate real power‑system problems into rigorous models and final solutions for the customers
Collaborate with a global and inter-disciplinary team of researchers and engineers in Hitachi Energy to drive the development from concept to production
Build relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with local and global external partners including universities, start-ups, and vendors to integrate diverse perspectives and stakeholder inputs
Be able to clearly communicate concepts to software developers, implementation engineering teams and customers. Produce clear design docs and developer-facing examples/ notebooks that enable reuse.

Master Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Master’s degree with equivalent industry experience
Proven expertise in modelling and steady-state analyses of power grids demonstrated hands-on expertise applying these methods in software development.
Knowledge in mathematical optimization applied to power systems, and modern numerical solvers is strongly desired (e.g., MIP/NLP, stochastic; tools such as Gurobi, CPLEX, Ipopt).
Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence technologies is a plus
Proficiency in C#, C++, Rust or a similar high-level programming language is required; Python and/or Matlab for analytics and fast prototyping are a plus.
Experience building state-of-the-art software engineering techniques (version control, code reviews, testing, CI/CD) and integrating solution algorithms into applications are beneficial (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
High performance computing skills such as parallel/distributed computing, GPU, OpenMP or MPI would be beneficial
Excellent communication skills in English, team player attitude, initiative and creativity.
