Lead and deliver InfluenceMap’s media strategy, while taking ownership of proactive promotion and day-to-day media engagement across relevant regions and outlets.
Build, manage, and deepen relationships with business, financial, mainstream, and other relevant media contacts in order to expand the reach and impact of our work globally.
Create strong media narratives from technical policy and research content, turning complex findings into clear, persuasive, and newsworthy messaging for external audiences.
Develop and support a range of media outputs, including press releases, pitches, op-eds, media briefings, and related communications materials.
Ensure consistent tone, style, and language across media-facing content and communications outputs.
Maintain and make full use of communications systems and software tools, including MS Office, Google Suite, Salesforce, and Mailchimp, to support efficient communications workflows.
Help lead our social media strategy to build an audience, strengthen visibility, and support broader communications objectives in a way that is aligned with our house style.
Work in close collaboration with internal content, engagement, and digital communications colleagues to coordinate timely and effective external communications.
Requirements
At least 3 years of demonstrable experience in PR, media relations, communications, journalism, or a closely related field.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume media or communications environment, with strong news judgment and the ability to identify timely opportunities, make good decisions, and respond confidently to a busy media cycle.
Ideally, experience in a comparable in-house role at a respected mission-driven organization, think tank, advocacy organization, newsroom-facing communications team, or similar environment where complex issues must be turned into compelling stories for external audiences.
Proven ability to build relationships with a range of business, financial, and mainstream media outlets.
Fluency in English, with excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail.
Strong digital and software skills, with experience using common tools such as MS Office, Google Suite, Salesforce, and Mailchimp.
A proactive, collaborative approach, with the confidence to take ownership of work while continuing to learn and develop in the role.
