Role Overview
- Responsible for planning, creating, and managing planograms for all assigned DSD categories using Space Planning software and the associated database
- Work closely with Category Merchants and Field Teams to ensure that the current assortment is represented on planograms
- Utilize space planning techniques, processes, and workflow to drive higher levels of efficiency and simplify procedures
- Ability to draw conclusions and make assortment and/or planogram recommendations
- Query and cross-reference data to provide enhanced insights & analytics in support of intelligent planogram design relative to item selection and shelf placement
- Develop standard space planning reporting to share key information and insights with the business
- Ensures principles are maintained and consistently executed on planograms
- Collaborate with Category Merchants, Analysts, and the Field Team to ensure space planning practices support and maintain data integrity
- Work on site with a major retail partner to maintain company relations, assist in retailer category management, and achieve desired sales/operational expectations
- Analyze sales and merchandise data to determine most profitable planogram designs that maximize sales and promote organized store merchandise displays. Guide the most productive presentation of SKUs, balancing the need for visually impactful displays with the financial necessity of efficient inventory management.
- Create planograms and store designs for seasonal merchandise displays to maximize space and sales.
- Coordinate and participate in category strategies and line review sessions with Customer Representatives and the respective divisional merchandise managers. Influence buyers’ merchandising decisions by using factual information.
- Maintain accurate planograms with accurate merchandise data in Space Planning system for all required store / planogram combinations for analysis for category strategies, line reviews and any other reviews.
- Layout new / remodel stores to support company growth program
- Maintain archives of category strategies and line reviews as well as data provided by vendors for the category strategies.
Requirements
- Ability to work in office three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) in Woonsocket, RI
- Fundamental understanding of merchandising principles & placement on the shelf
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, including interacting with remote stakeholders
- Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills needed to facilitate cross-functional work between multiple parties
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Experienced in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Access
- Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately
- Action-oriented and continuous improvement driven
- Detailed and well organized
- Previous experience in the retail industry in a support capacity is required that includes analysis of information.
- Previous experience in space planning and floor planning is preferred with knowledge of software such as Pro/Space, Spaceman or Apollo.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Sales analyst experience in retail or food/beverage industry (preferred)
- MicroStrategy experience (preferred)
