About this role
Role Overview
Leading electrical design projects from concept to complete preparation of construction documents and specifications.
Establishing project strategy, reviewing drawings, and ensuring elements of design and detailing adhere to jurisdictional requirements.
Delivering excellent technical, financial, and social solutions for clients.
Leading the preparation and review of complex technical calculations.
Overseeing, reviewing, approving, performing and finalizing detailed designs and technical drawings.
Ensuring that build quality is as per design.
Leading and providing oversight for QAQC (quality assurance quality control) checks as required.
Completing and reviewing project documentation and technical report development.
Assigning, outlining and prioritizing work for engineers or technologists according to project demands.
Participating in training and certification programs, as required.
Requirements
10+ years of related electrical engineering design experience is required.
A degree in electrical engineering or equitant is required.
Registered with PEO, and holds a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng), or equivalent in Canada.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Microstation, or similar tools, for electrical system layout and drafting.
Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, practices, and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local building codes.
Strong industrial experience, with experience in surface and underground mining.
Knowledge of mining-related processes a definite asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites applications.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong project management skills considered an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design practices.
Valid driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle is required.
