About this role
Role Overview
- Define and implement the Canadian HSE strategy aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements
- Serve as the lead HSE advisor to the President – Canada and the executive team
- Oversee the development, governance, and continuous improvement of contractor compliance and risk management standards
- Ensure compliance with Canadian federal and provincial health, safety and environmental laws
- Represent Veriforce Canada in industry forums, regulatory bodies, and sector associations
- Drive audit programs, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Sales and Client teams to support strategic commitments and complex risk discussions
- Monitor competitor activity, regulatory developments, and emerging ESG trends
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing national HSE and compliance team
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
Requirements
- Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in HSE within industrial, energy, construction, or other heavily regulated sectors
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Strong knowledge of HSE laws and regulatory frameworks at the federal and provincial levels in Canada
- Experience implementing an HSE strategy at a national or multi-site level
- Solid understanding of contractor management, supply chain risk, and compliance systems
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Industry-recognized certification (e.g., CRSP, CSP)
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field
- Willingness to travel nationally
- Membership in CSSE or another recognized professional HSE association
