About this role
Role Overview
Manage a team of 5-6 Family Support Specialists who provide services to DCF high risk families in their communities and homes.
Accept, assign, and coordinate referrals to the program.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
Prepare and submit billing and progress reports to the funding agency and DCF area offices.
Oversee work performance, provide feedback to employees, for improvement when necessary.
Monitor progress and goals throughout the year.
Prepare the annual performance appraisal for all direct report staff.
Report concerns including but not limited to staff performance to the Director of Home Visiting Programs.
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Hire, train, and supervise staff.
Provide employees with weekly supervision regarding case management and caseload.
Create and maintain relationships with community partners.
Ensure employees receive ongoing training each year to provide quality care for clients and themselves.
Collaborate with the Director of Home Visiting Programs regarding budget and contractual obligations.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in social worker Human Services preferred with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant program experience.
Strong supervisory skills and at least 3 years of experience supervising in a human service environment.
Experience providing home-based services and case management.
Knowledge of local resources and experience building relationships with community partners.
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
Knowledge of working with program budgets and contracts.
Experience working with the Department of Children and Families’ programming, assessment, service planning, and case review.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Competent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and remote technology.
A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation and insurance coverage.
Bilingual Spanish/English/Haitian Creole helpful.
Some evening and weekend availability as needed for on-call work.
