Together with our Senior MV Electrical Engineer, you will install, inspect, repair, replace, maintain, and conduct necessary tests on all low
to medium-voltage wave energy converter (WEC & Hub) systems, equipment, transformers, switchgear, generators, and distribution systems.
Contribute to the development of submarine cabling and WEC installation work packages to define scopes of work and support project scheduling.
Ensure that all electrical assets in the offshore deployment plan are installed to required quality and engineering standards.
Support the refurbishment and operation of onshore project-related existing assets, as well as all associated power supply systems in the research centre’s manufacturing hall.
Produce clear and accurate written documentation, reports, and technical drawings.
Interface with internal and external stakeholders regarding onshore and offshore low
and medium-voltage electrical systems.
Collaborate with other functions as necessary to help achieve overall project objectives.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with medium-voltage equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and generators.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
Experience with medium-voltage systems in both academic and industrial settings, including new product development.
Knowledge of applicable Portuguese standards related to electrical engineering, grid connection, and electrical compliance.
Hands-on experience in wire assembly and cable repair; mechanical assembly experience is an advantage.
Experience with MV splicing, termination, and cable repair, and familiarity with MV protection equipment and control devices is advantageous.
Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks requiring standing, kneeling, crouching, and hand-over-hand climbing.
Prepared and willing to work in challenging marine outdoor environments.
Proficient in Portuguese and English, both spoken and written, including colloquial and technical language.
