Trident Systems is a company that focuses on engineering innovation and solving complex problems in aerospace and defense. They are seeking an experienced PCB Designer to lead and execute complex printed circuit board layouts for advanced space-borne electronic systems, emphasizing precision and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end‑to‑end PCB layout process for digital, analog, RF, mixed‑signal, and high‑speed designs
- Translate electrical schematics, mechanical constraints, and system‑level requirements into manufacturable PCB layouts
- Create and maintain PCB footprints, symbols, and component libraries
- Perform stack‑up definition, impedance control, routing strategies, and DFM/DFT optimization
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing partners, and program teams
- Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback to ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements
- Generate fabrication and assembly documentation, including Gerber/ODB++ files, drawings, and build packages
- Work within configuration‑controlled environments and follow established processes for documentation, revision control, and release
- Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and iterative design improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related technical field
- 2+ years of professional PCB design experience in a production environment
- Proficiency with Cadence Allegro/PCB, Altium Designer, or equivalent high‑end PCB CAD tools
- Demonstrated experience designing complex, multi‑layer boards (e.g., high‑speed digital, RF, power distribution, controlled impedance)
- Working knowledge of DFM/DFT, PCB fabrication processes, and assembly constraints
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system‑level requirements
- Experience working within regulated or controlled industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, medical, automotive safety, or similar)
- Experience with IPC standards (IPC‑2221, IPC‑7351, etc.)
- Familiarity with MIL‑STD, DO‑254, or other aerospace/defense design standards
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and simulation tools
- Experience with PLM systems and configuration‑controlled workflows
