The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the College of Education and Health Professions (COEHP) centralized accounting team.
Financial Oversight: Monitoring worktag balances to ensure sufficient funding for all expenditures and informing departments, when necessary, about budgetary issues; monitoring the setup of grant budgets posted by OSP for accuracy, working with COEHP’s Grants & Research team when budget revisions are needed; creating accounts within the college's reporting system and maintaining college’s worktag listing.
Specialized Billing & Registrations: Managing Medicaid billing for the Autism Waiver Program and maintaining college conference registrations and reporting through University platforms (transitioning from Registration Guru to Ideal Logic).
Reporting: Review the monthly financial reports prepared by the accountants for departmental deans, directors, and Principal Investigators (PIs) for accuracy. Reconciling Cash Net (credit card) & college conference registration payments and preparing weekly reports to be emailed to the conference administrators.
Training & Development: Leading the professional growth of the college by providing comprehensive training for new accounting staff and conducting both one-on-one and group training sessions for departmental administrators to ensure college-wide compliance and proficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, general business or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education or experience equivalency
At least four years of experience in fiscal operations
At least two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
Master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education (preferred)
At least three or more years of experience supervising/managing a team of employees (preferred)
Direct experience with grant and/or contract awards and proposals, university endowment accounting, and state and university procurement policies and procedures (preferred)
Experience with Workday, Quickbooks, Smartsheets or other ERP financial systems (preferred)
