About this role
Role Overview
Execute and oversee accounting routines related to fixed assets, ensuring correct classification, recognition and measurement of assets;
Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers and reclassifications of assets in the system;
Calculate and record monthly depreciation, ensuring compliance with the Company’s accounting policies and applicable legislation;
Control and monitor the asset capitalization process, ensuring correct differentiation between CAPEX and OPEX;
Support business areas in the proper classification of investments and asset-related expenditures;
Perform account reconciliations for fixed asset and depreciation accounts, investigating and correcting discrepancies;
Participate in physical inventories of assets, ensuring consistency between the accounting records and physical assets;
Monitor construction-in-progress (CIP), ensuring correct capitalization and commencement of depreciation;
Support analysis of assets’ useful economic lives and review of depreciation rates;
Contribute to internal and external audit processes by providing support and documentation;
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (CPC 27 / IAS 16) and internal policies;
Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls related to fixed assets;
Interact with areas such as Tax, Engineering/Expansion, Procurement and IT to align information and processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
Previous experience in accounting routines with focus on fixed assets;
Knowledge of accounting standards applicable to fixed assets (CPC 27 / IAS 16);
Experience with asset capitalization processes and CAPEX control;
Experience calculating and controlling depreciation;
Knowledge of account reconciliations and monthly close processes;
Experience with ERP systems, preferably Protheus (TOTVS);
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills;
Organized, detail-oriented and operationally disciplined;
Analytical profile and critical thinking to identify inconsistencies;
Good communication skills and ability to interact with operational areas.
