About this role
Role Overview
Lead a software development team of approximately 30 people
Responsible for competence management, setting strategy, and monitoring progress toward objectives
Contribute to the creation of project plans covering scope, schedules, effort, costs, and dependencies, in close collaboration with program management
Ensure technical project milestones are met to achieve goals and exceed customer expectations
Build trust with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, eliminate non-value-adding activities and blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery
Communicate status and critical issues clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner
Manage issues and risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders when necessary
Work in the area of safety-critical systems
Requirements
Technical education, preferably a master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in technical team leadership in software engineering projects
Experience in traditional and agile software development, cloud computing, and software integration
Experience in an industry such as automotive, telecommunications, or process control, as well as knowledge of safety-critical systems—particularly railway signalling systems—are considered advantageous
Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and delegation skills
Project management knowledge is considered an advantage
A positive attitude and perseverance are essential for success in this role
