Design and develop Java-based backend services and microservices in a cloud-native environment
Build, maintain, and enhance RESTful APIs used by internal and external systems
Contribute to the development and evolution of scalable, secure, and reliable backend solutions
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from implementation and testing to deployment and support
Collaborate closely with other engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
Optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability across distributed services
Write clean, testable code and contribute to managing technical debt responsibly
Participate in code reviews and share knowledge within the team
Create and maintain clear and practical technical documentation
Stay curious and engaged with modern Java and backend development practices

Practical experience building backend services using Spring Boot (3+)
Solid hands-on experience with Java (preferably Java 17+ / Java 21)
Strong understanding of RESTful API design, implementation, and integration
Experience applying clean code principles, writing maintainable code, and implementing automated tests
Familiarity with software design principles such as SOLID, KISS, and YAGNI
Experience working in cloud-based or distributed systems, ideally on AWS
Basic to intermediate exposure to AWS services such as Lambda (Java runtime), API Gateway, CloudWatch, or similar
Understanding of CI/CD practices and the importance of monitoring and operational stability
Experience in banking, finance, or other regulated environments is a strong advantage
Experience with Quarkus will be considered as an advantage
Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently while knowing when to collaborate
Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level.

Gross salary 4,190-6,690 EUR/month, which is to be determined depending on your level of experience and competencies
