Role Overview
- Serve as the assistant director of a U.S. Coast Guard Child Development Center
- Assist the director in managing child development services
- Supervise non-appropriated fund personnel, including teachers and administrative staff
- Responsible for the operation of the Base Kodiak Child Development Center in the director's absence
- Develop and implement programs that promote children's growth and development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education or equivalent experience
- Current certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Specialized experience in group child care or other relevant work
- Ability to manage the operation of a child care center
- Experience in selecting, training, and supervising employees
- Skills in developing and implementing child development programs
- Capacity to solve complex problems related to child education
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, and maintain physical mobility
