Supports/leads design and technical reviews for components within seating systems.
Defines ICD requirements for component and sub-system interfaces.
Negotiates and reaches agreement with interfacing components, works with others to resolve issues.
Leads/Supports PDT for component/subsystems. (e.g. timing, parts list, DFM, issue tracking)
Performs appropriate studies/alternatives, and supports program direction based upon cost, mass, timing, DFA, complexity and other commodity imperatives.
Releases Production Design, on time, to meet commodity requirements.
Conducts engineering and design reviews to ensure 100 percent design fidelity.
Communicates information to and from internal and external customer organizations.
Leads the launch of new vehicle programs for Seat System Components at the GM assembly plants, Tier 1 seating plants, and applicable Tier 2 suppliers.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
5+ years of relevant engineering experience
Operate with a high level of independent judgment, implementing functional strategy and managing programs while advising and counseling leadership.
Possess deep expertise across the function, providing informed analysis and guidance for the design, development, and implementation of technical products and systems.
Resolve highly complex technical issues and lead advanced research efforts.
Recommend design or development changes to improve product quality and operational procedures.
Demonstrate proficiency in a wide range of concepts, practices, and methodologies within the field.
Leverage extensive experience and judgment to plan, prioritize, and achieve goals.
Able to lead and direct the work of others, exercising significant creativity and autonomy.
