A Field Service Engineer works independently or with more experienced engineers in performing inspections, tuning, operational audits, pre-commissioning testing on boilers and environmental equipment, and writes estimates and proposals.
Collecting and evaluating field data.
Working with customers, account executives, vendors and sublet vendors with assistance and guidance from District Engineer or senior engineer.
Preparing technical reports including service and special reports.
Working as part of commissioning teams on project startups
Performing site activities including: boiler inspections, condition assessments and boiler operation evaluations
Providing construction technical support and outage management
Works on estimates and proposals for equipment upgrades
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED, Vocational/Technical, or Associate’s Degree minimum requirement, or 8+ years of experience.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Ability and desire to travel
Decision making or problem solving authority with little to no supervisory review
Assess equipment needs at a customer site, conduct walk downs and inspections of functioning equipment
Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment at a customer site
