Lead and mentor a team of Engineering Managers and very senior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
Drive architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance optimization
Champion best practices in software development, system design, and operational excellence across the engineering organization
Manage complex technical debt and guide system modernization efforts while maintaining platform stability
Represent Pantheon's technical interests by building and maintaining strong relationships with essential technology partners and vendors.
Requirements
12+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years in senior roles managing other managers
Proven track record of building and leading multiple high-performing engineering teams
Track record of successful large-scale technical initiatives and organizational transformation
Executive-level communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences
Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and container orchestration systems
Delivery of critical compliance initiatives including SOC2, PCI, ISO, and/or FedRAMP
Expert understanding of distributed systems design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies
Supporting AI-native development workflows, including LLM integration and agentic automation
Proficiency with modern development practices, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies
Staff-level architectural knowledge with passion for driving decision-making through in-depth technical discussions
Strong foundation in programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java
