Drive the evolution of Akamai's platform architectures
Lead cross-engineering efforts to identify, prioritize, and design solutions for critical platform system initiatives
Collaborate with architects across engineering to define solutions
Build consensus around technical strategy decisions
Engage with external partners and stakeholders to achieve platform evolution goals
Ensure platform architecture aligns with product goals

Have 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
Demonstrate extensive experience developing and documenting architectures for large-scale distributed systems.
Able to clearly articulate design decisions to implementation teams.
Have solid experience with high availability software systems and methods for achieving service security, reliability and operability objectives.
Be self-motivated; have effective communication skills and be able to influence and motivate others.
Possess working knowledge of Internet protocols (routing, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.) and computer security (OS, containers, protocols).
Have a good understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS with experience in one or more public cloud offerings.
