About this role
Role Overview
- Manage and evaluate carrier relationships (LTL/TL, ground/air, regional/national, small parcel) across Canada
- Oversee international carrier performance, costs, service levels, and compliance
- Ensure CSA cross-border transport compliance
- Address transportation and operational issues for customers, sales, and carriers
- Serve as the main point of contact for special delivery services
- Develop and maintain SOPs and work processes
- Drive customer satisfaction through efficient, compliant operations
- Support staff development, morale, and achievement of stretch targets
- Ensure readiness for internal and external audits
- Manage all Canadian freight contracts
- Balance quality and cost, driving continuous improvement
- Review and approve transportation-related expenses
Requirements
- College degree required
- 8+ years’ in logistics, distribution, or inventory
- 5+ years’ experience negotiating transportation carrier contracts
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance: Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, Dangerous Spill Cleanup, Health Canada GMP
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical skills and sound business judgement
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced MS Office Suite and SAP skills
- French language skills are an asset
