Own the product vision and roadmap for the Billing domain, spanning bill calculation, adjustments, and emerging flexible energy revenue streams.
Work with senior stakeholders, industry and customers to translate operational billing requirements into a clear and prioritised product strategy.
Identify and lead the product response to billing-related regulatory change.
Partner closely with other areas to ensure settlement and metering data, half-hourly flows, tariffs, and industry reconciliation all feed accurately into billing calculations.
Lead product thinking on how we handle complex and evolving billing scenarios e.g. multi-directional energy flows, export payments, flexibility market rewards, and time-of-use.
Identify opportunities where AI and automation can improve billing accuracy and reduce exception handling.
Monitor industry developments in DSR, V2G, heat pump tariffs, and smart charging developing a forward-looking billing product position for each.
Support client SLA obligations, audit requirements, and regulatory reporting in the billing area.
Maintain a prioritised, well-reasoned backlog ensuring your engineering team always has clear context on what they are building and why.
Use data, experimentation, and AI tooling to drive continuous improvement in billing accuracy, exception rates, and customer-facing output quality.
Apply strong ERP financial management principles to the billing domain.
Represent the Billing domain in cross-functional planning forums while managing dependencies with Market Operations, Metering, Tariffs, Statements, Payments, Debt/Collections, & Platform.
Coach and support other Product Managers raising the standard of product thinking and delivery.
Requirements
Significant experience in product management, with a track record of owning complex, commercially critical product domains.
Deep understanding of billing, invoicing, and financial management in an enterprise context — including credit, adjustments, collections, reconciliation, and audit.
Familiarity with ERP or financial platform concepts (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) as they relate to invoice lifecycle and revenue management.
Experience working across multiple upstream domains or systems to ensure data accuracy in a downstream financial output.
Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including enterprise client representatives, with clarity and confidence.
Strong command of product management practice including strategy, road-mapping, prioritisation, experimentation, and lifecycle management.
Demonstrable use of data and AI tooling to drive product decisions and operational improvement.
