Assist, in the development of Customer Markets regulatory strategies in consultation with relevant AGL business units.
Liaise and negotiate with AGL business units to deliver coherent and well-considered positions on regulatory and technical policies.
Work with the Senior Manager in the preparation and co-ordination of AGL’s submissions and responses to public consultation processes to bodies including (but not limited to the) AEMC, AER, ESC, Jurisdictional Governments.
Develop and deliver AGL’s regulatory engagement and advocacy strategy.
Support the Customer Markets business units by ensuring that all regulatory issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Provide macro and micro regulatory advice as required, working closely with AGL’s Legal and Corporate Affairs teams to ensure AGL’s business risk is managed appropriately.
Represent AGL at relevant industry body forums, including the AEC.
Use established external networks to build support for, and drive AGL’s strategic regulatory policies.
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Economics or Engineering discipline.
Strong understanding of the Australian energy industry (highly desirable).
Robust interpersonal and project management skills.
Broad experience in dealing with Regulators, bureaucrats, and industry groups.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in dealing with Energy sector regulatory matters and Government Departments/Regulators.
Demonstrated experience in developing strategic positions and influencing external stakeholders to deliver robust outcomes.
Experience in general business management and a sound understanding of business drivers.
