Role Overview
- Prepare Canadian income tax compliance for corporate, partnership and trust income tax returns
- Prepare Canadian commodity tax compliance
- Prepare Canadian tax computations including annual adjustment cost base (ACB) computations
- Analyze, research, and document tax matters associated with the preparation of returns and computations
- Assist in responding to tax audit queries
- Manage document/data management by gathering and storing certain documents/data in standardized SharePoint sites
- Assist with the development, coaching and training of staff members
Requirements
- Completion of a professional accounting designation (or equivalent)
- Currently enrolled/interested in completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Canadian taxation/exposure to Canadian international tax is advantageous
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple demands and competing priorities to achieve required results
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and also work collaboratively in a team environment
- Passion for developing others and developing a high-performance culture
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel; experience in SAP, Taxprep, SharePoint and/or Longview Tax is an asset
- Canada Corporate taxation experience is a must
