Role Overview
- Guide specification, selection, and design of valves for mechanical process and power generation applications
- Identify requirements and perform design calculations
- Provide expert opinions to system owners and engineers
- Supervise computations for structural, thermal, hydraulic aspects
- Compose and develop design documentation
- Author and maintain design standards and guides for valves
- Provide technical expertise for reviewing procured items and documentation
- Actively support safety culture and ensure quality integration
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience for Level V
- 20+ years of relevant experience for Level VI
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited university
- Master’s degree may be in lieu of two years of experience
- Ph.D. may be in lieu of three years of experience
- Experience with mechanical process equipment design, procurement, installation, and/or operation
- Experience specifying and selecting general service, control, severe service, and special application valves
- Experience with authoring and/or maintaining company design standards and guides related to valves is desirable
- Systems or Design Engineering experience in successful mechanical system development projects
