About this role
Role Overview
Provide administrative oversight and evaluation across all construction disciplines.
Review construction activities for compliance with contract documents, codes, and VA standards.
Analyze contractor work to identify deficiencies, inconsistencies, and non-conforming conditions.
Support preparation and review of construction documents, plans, and specifications.
Monitor project budgets, obligations, and expenditures.
Review contractor pay applications and validate progress against completed work.
Assist with preparation, evaluation, and documentation of change orders and cost proposals.
Maintain and review project schedules, identifying risks and delays.
Track progress against milestones and recommend corrective actions.
Support schedule coordination between stakeholders and contractors.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and logs.
Track project correspondence, records, and contractual documentation.
Support preparation of reports for leadership and contracting personnel.
Participate in and support weekly progress meetings with stakeholders.
Coordinate communication between contractors, government personnel, and project teams.
Assist in resolving project issues and facilitating alignment across all parties.
Conduct site inspections to monitor quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
Track deficiencies and ensure timely resolution.
Support testing and inspection processes across multiple construction disciplines.
Evaluate construction impacts on active medical center operations.
Support phasing plans to maintain patient care, safety, and facility operations.
Identify risks related to safety, access, utilities, and environmental conditions.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship required (clearance process)
Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain VA PIV badge
Minimum of three (3) years of construction experience or equivalent education/experience
Demonstrated experience supporting construction administration activities (RFIs, submittals, change orders, documentation)
Working knowledge of construction practices, QA/QC, scheduling, and cost control
Experience reviewing contractor work and identifying deficiencies relative to construction documents
Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills
