Provide front‑line field service and technical support for Abbott Molecular diagnostic instrument systems within an assigned territory.
Install, verify, maintain, and repair instrument systems in customer laboratory environments.
Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and hardware/software upgrades.
Troubleshoot system issues remotely and on‑site to ensure reliable instrument performance.
Develop technical expertise across current and new Molecular instrument platforms.
Manage spare parts inventory and maintain accurate service and call documentation.
Support customers through training, demonstrations, and technical consultations.
Collaborate with service leadership and field teams; share feedback to improve service documentation and processes.
Participate in service meetings, training sessions, and provide backup support outside the assigned territory as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Life Sciences, or Molecular Science
Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical, software‑controlled instrument systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset
Ability to document service work accurately and follow quality and compliance procedures
Proficiency with PC‑based software and standard business tools (MS Word, Excel, Access)
Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
Willingness to travel 75%+ as business needs require
Valid driver’s license
2+ years of field service experience supporting electromechanical instruments (Preferred)
Experience with motion control, mechanical alignment, and hardware fabrication basics (Preferred)
Familiarity with laboratory tools such as multimeters and data acquisition equipment (Preferred)
