Role Overview
The Assistant Director of Student Conduct is a critical team member in addressing matters of student behavior and identifying and ensuring corrective measures.
The Assistant Director of Student Conduct will play a vital role in fulfilling the Office’s fundamental mission to assist in students’ educational development by promoting concepts of fairness and due process in judicial settings.
The Assistant Director assists in promoting and educating the campus community about the Code of Student Conduct and the processes and procedures used to address such matters.
Such matters may include serious behavior that, if confirmed, could have longstanding impact on a student’s educational path, up to and including separation from the university.
The Assistant Director will provide leadership for the office during the Director’s absence.
Work in close collaboration with campus partners across the university, notably in various departments.
Requirements
A Masters degree in higher education or related field; or a J.D. law degree is required for this role.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in student conduct in a college or university setting.
demonstrated success as a professional in an administrative student conduct process or closely related area.
Must demonstrate familiarity with current Title IX obligations
Possess an understanding of and commitment to student development, character formation and community building.
Ability to handle sensitive cases, emergency situations and make sound judgments regarding immediate priorities.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, analytical skills.
Interact effectively and collaboratively with a diverse community of students, parents, faculty/staff, partner offices and the neighboring community.
