Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects;
Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;
Perform conceptual and detail designs including cost estimates;
Evaluate technologies for remedial systems and water/wastewater projects;
Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings;
Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines;
Effectively organize, write and edit draft proposals, reports and other documents;
Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing projects and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;
Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments.
Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects.
Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
Coordinate other work groups across office locations and disciplines on an as-needed basis;
Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others;
Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering
Master’s degree a plus
PE certification
6+ years of related work experience
Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software
Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and technical analyses
Experience navigating multi-media environmental regulatory frameworks, with a strong background in permit application development, compliance monitoring, and sampling programs, including stormwater and sanitary/industrial wastewater discharge permitting
Demonstrated ability to develop and refine conceptual site models (CSMs), evaluate contaminate fate and transport, and apply environmental forensics techniques to support source identification and remedial decision-making; experience in these areas is strongly preferred
Proficiency in multi-media site assessment addressing air, groundwater, and soil, with demonstrated involvement in projects from due diligence through site investigation and remedial planning and execution
Demonstrated, in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, with a strong emphasis on the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Site Remediation Program (SRP) and the Pennsylvania Act 2 regulatory process; direct experience navigating these programs is strongly preferred
Hazwoper training, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, and annual 8-hr. Hazwoper re-certification
Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
Ability to multi-task effectively, manage multiple projects and clients, develop and manage project budgets, and effectively manage and coach staff
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as projects require
Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
