Virtualization Infrastructure Architect

Role Overview

• Responsible for the architecture, design, and ongoing optimization of the organization’s virtual infrastructure environment.
• Lead the design and evolution of enterprise VMware vSphere environments.
• Architect and standardize hyper‑converged infrastructure (HCI) solutions.
• Define reference architectures, standards, and best practices for virtual compute, storage, and management platforms.
• Own and optimize the use of vRealize Operations (vROps) for performance monitoring.
• Establish and refine performance baselines, capacity models, and forecasting using vROps analytics.
• Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks, resource contention, and configuration risks across the virtual environment.
• Lead platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching strategies, and technology roadmaps.
• Act as a technical escalation point and mentor for infrastructure and operations teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure, with significant hands‑on experience in VMware and Nutanix based virtual environments.
• Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related core components.
• Proven experience designing and supporting hyper‑converged infrastructure (HCI) solutions, including storage and performance considerations.
• Deep working knowledge of vRealize Operations (vROps) for monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of enterprise compute, storage, and networking concepts in virtualized environments.
• Experience supporting highly available, 24x7 production systems.
