Manage the procurement of materials, supplies, and services to support distribution operations.
Conduct market research, evaluate bids, negotiate prices and terms.
Ensure purchases are made under favorable conditions for the Government.
Monitor vendor performance and track purchases.
Maintain an updated vendor database to ensure quality and compliance with contract requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with distribution needs and project timelines.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (minimum of 4 years in procurement or supply chain management).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within a distribution or logistics environment.
Proven ability to conduct market research and analyze vendor proposals to ensure cost-effective and high-quality purchasing decisions.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and prices for goods and services.
Familiarity with vendor qualification processes and the ability to evaluate vendor capabilities and performance.
Proficient in procurement software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and familiarity with procurement and supply chain management systems.
Knowledge of relevant contracting and procurement regulations, including competition requirements under federal contracts (e.g., Section H-1 Competition in Supplies).
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to track purchases, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor relations and internal collaboration.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
