Provide mechanical engineering support to contract manufacturing partners during the build of power electronics, switchboards, and electrical distribution equipment.
Act as the main technical point of contact for mechanical engineering topics during manufacturing and project execution.
Respond to technical queries, support production schedules, and help resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
Contribute to the mechanical design and documentation of new and existing products as part of a project delivery team.
Collaborate with supplier quality teams to support capability assessments of new manufacturing suppliers.
Work with product and project managers to align engineering priorities, costs, and manufacturing schedules.
Support test planning, routine testing, and customer factory acceptance testing.
Create and maintain 3D models and 2D technical drawings using CAD tools.
Create and manage parts and bills of materials within the PLM system.
Travel within the UK and internationally as required to support suppliers, manufacturing activities, and project needs.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification, or relevant practical experience in a mechanical engineering environment.
Experience in mechanical engineering for manufacturing, product support, or product development.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal design, welding, coating technologies, electro-mechanical assembly, design for manufacture and assembly, and material selection.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Sole UK nationality and current eligibility for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
