Perform the daily credit monitoring of the loan portfolio including making projections for future performance and managing self-assessment procedure independently
Prepare new and renewal credit applications including preparation of cash flow projections and different scenario analysis etc.
Liaise with relationship managers on deal structures and business risks to support business development activities
Provide advice on loan documentation where necessary
Oversee “booking loans” for non-HK based SMBC offices or functions and “monitoring accounts” which have no client facing and cross-sells need
Adhere to the Bank’s credit policies and guideline
Support Internal and External Audit, IAD, HKMA, BOJ and JFSA related inspections
Actively manage the assigned client portfolio through checking client news, market news and various market indicators like bond spread, share price etc.
Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, department head, or the Management
Requirements
University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit analysis of medium and large corporate clients, with exposure to a broad range of lending and related financial products
Demonstrated sound judgment in evaluating customers’ financial performance, creditworthiness, and risk profiles
Strong ability to complete work assignments with a high level of thoroughness, accuracy, and consistency
