Lead technology development programs to deliver digital data analytics and process optimization tools for UOP’s portfolio of process technologies, following HON UOP NPI work process
Effectively coordinate cross-functional technology development teams, including specialists from R&D, Technical Service, and Business.
Create technical strategy with Business to establish and prioritize technical definition and content of the solutions to maximize customer value.
Identify new approaches in data science, capabilities, and tools for use by UOP internal Specialists and new product development
Recognize and implement improved work processes, tools, and infrastructure for digital solution development.
Mentoring and coaching engineers in supporting development of data analytics
Interaction with customers to identify and understand their needs, and to present your proposed/developed solutions
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering (Chemical preferred) or mathematics
5+ years of experience in the refining, petrochemicals, and or/gas processing applications
2+ years of Python programming experience or demonstrated coding aptitude
PhD or Advanced Degree.
Prior experience in designing, operating, and/or servicing UOP licensed process units.
Experience with multivariate statistics; experimental design; equation-based modeling and/or data analytics including cleansing, manipulating, filtering and selection; parameter estimation, and numerical methods
Skills in machine learning, data science tools, optimization techniques and algorithms
Python programming experience including pandas & NumPy packages or equivalent software development including object-oriented programming methods and cloud-based services
Strong interpersonal and project management skills and the capability to lead projects effectively across multiple functional departments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure solution definition and clear project requirements.
Strong business acumen
Strong interest in R&D work, self-starting and demonstrated leadership skills.
Process Modeling experience with commercial software (UniSim, Hysys, Aspen+, Pro/II, etc.)
Prior kinetic modeling / yield estimating experience for UOP process units
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
