About this role
Role Overview
Lead and oversee complex general ledger activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial results for the Evernorth GPO.
Guide and develop a team of approximately three accounting professionals, fostering strong performance, accountability, and professional growth.
Own month‑end close activities, including journal entries, account analysis, reconciliations, and variance explanations.
Review and analyze financial accruals, manufacturer rebates, receivables, and payables to support informed business decisions.
Partner with business and finance leaders to present financial results, explain variances, and support key enterprise initiatives.
Support and influence company‑wide rebate initiatives through deep system knowledge, analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls, including the adoption of automation and more efficient workflows.
Provide leadership and support for external audits and internal control processes, including SOX compliance activities.
Balance long‑term strategic projects with day‑to‑day operational priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance roles.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Proven ability to lead complex accounting processes while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve issues across functions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to senior leaders and business partners.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Prior experience leading, mentoring, or developing an accounting team (preferred).
Experience supporting audits, SOX controls, or financial compliance activities (preferred).
Experience working in a matrixed environment with cross‑functional stakeholders (preferred).
