Lead end‑to‑end systems engineering for BESS products from requirements definition through deployment and operation.
Develop and maintain system‑level requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), specifications, and compliance matrices.
Integrate multiple subsystems including energy storage, PCS, safety, controls, and communications.
Review and approve BESS electrical and controls designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and integration documentation.
Interpret and apply applicable BESS safety codes and standards (UL, IEC, NFPA, IFC, etc).
Support prototype builds, certification testing, and production transition, ensuring system‑level validation and qualification plans are aligned with applicable BESS codes, standards, and project requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of BESS integration practices.
Serve as a technical authority for BESS system architecture and integration into utility‑scale projects.
Troubleshoot complex electrical, controls, and system‑level issues on deployed BESS assets.
Perform root cause analysis for field failures and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Serve as a technical representative supporting the full product lifecycle by participating in permitting and local jurisdiction discussions, managing integration risks, and enabling long‑term operational performance improvements.
Deliver technical guidance and training to internal and external teams related to BESS safety and emergency response.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
7+ years of experience in BESS or complex electromechanical system development and integration.
Strong experience with electrical systems, energy storage, controls, and power electronics.
Experience working across multiple OEMs and integrators.
Proven ability to support fielded systems and post‑installation troubleshooting.
Familiarity with BESS standards such as UL 9540 / 9540A and applicable electrical codes.
Experience with BESS safety standards and compliance, including UL 9540 / 9540A NFPA 855, NFPA 110 / 111, NFPA 72, NFPA 68 / 69.
Willingness to travel to factories and project sites (≈25%).
