About this role
Role Overview
Participate in the entire design and development cycle of ground systems that support the command and control of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for defense and security applications.
Contribute to the design and evolution of the Remote Control Station architecture, operator consoles, display systems, networking and power supply equipment.
Support the design and integration of the hardware environment, including shelter and/or containerized control station layouts, power distribution units and grounding systems, cable routing and harness architecture.
Support system architecture documentation including system block diagram, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), network architecture diagrams.
Collaborate with cross functional teams for the analysis, definition, allocation of system requirements and architectures.
Manage system requirements using tools such as IBM DOORS or equivalent and maintain traceability between operational and system requirements and verification activities.
Support integration and verification activities including laboratory system integration, communication link verification, end-to-end command and telemetry validation.
Ensure compliance with human factors and operational usability requirements.
Participate in ground and flight test campaigns, supporting troubleshooting and system performance analysis.
Contribute to safety analyses according to ARP4761 methodologies and support certification activities for the ground segment according to applicable standards such as STANAG 4671.
Requirements
University Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Systems Engineering or related discipline.
Understanding of wireless communication systems, ICT and networking equipment.
Familiarity with electrical power distribution and lightning protection.
Experience with engineering requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS.
Systems engineering experience (in architecture and design, requirements, documentation, CONOPS, integration and verification).
Experience in human factors engineering.
Familiarity with STANAG-4671 and/or other military airworthiness frameworks.
Familiarity with environmental and EMI/EMC standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461/464.
Experience modeling complex systems using MBSE SysML tools.
